Set up guide

Welcome to alphabeats, where we use music to help improve your mental skills. Today, you're starting a journey to boost your mental performance.

When your first session begins, we'll play the music you chose. By wearing the headband, our system will be able to measure how your brain responds to the music and will challenge you to relax and focus. We’ll do this by changing the music's richness.

When you are fully relaxed and focused, the music will sound rich and clear. This means your brain is in an optimal ‘alpha’ state. The changes in the music act as a signal of your mental state. If the music loses its depth, it means we are challenging you to improve your focus. These techniques help train your brain to stay in an optimal alpha state longer and better than before.

The more you use alphabeats, the easier it becomes to find and maintain this optimal alpha state. Each session helps make this calm focus a regular part of your mental skills.

To help you have a great first training experience, we’ve created this quick start guide.

Step 1: Charge the battery

Charge the headband’s battery for at least 10 minutes before first use.

In the box, you’ll find the battery charger and a microUSB cable. To charge the battery:Insert the battery into the charger.Plug the USB cable into the charger and then into a compatible power source.Wait until the LED on the charger turns green. This indicates that the battery is fully charged.* Recharging the battery should take no longer than 4 hours.
